I’ve had a lot of luck on Medium over the last couple years I’ve been fortunate enough to use the platform. I’m actually wearing a Medium t-shirt (the company, not the size), as I type this, that the company sent me as a thank you for publishing one of my more popular stories here. The level of engagement I’ve seen on Medium far surpasses any other outlet I’ve ever used to put my thoughts out into the world.
For a little while now, I’ve been trying to conjure up a way to interact with all the communities I’m a part of, and offer something unique and helpful. I’ve thought about a new blog, hitting the conference circuit, starting a podcast, you name it. And maybe I’ll do all of those.
For starters, though, I’ve come up with a name. A sort of idiom that can serve as an overarching thought to represent the varied range of topics I’m likely to feel moved to discuss.
Never behind the curve, or trying to keep up, chasing trends and the like. But never assuming a position ahead of the curve either. Handling the curve implies an element of control and an influence on its shape.
On a more personal note, I literally work with curves on a daily basis as a letterer, and since I’ll be talking a lot about that aspect of my work and the industry I’m a part of there, this name becomes an even tighter fit.
I’ve added all my previous Medium posts into this publication now, so if you aren’t familiar with them, or just haven’t read them in a while, they’re all here in one convenient place. They’re all pretty short reads, and I’d love for you to check them out and share your input and feedback.
Then follow this publication, as I polish off some new content in the coming days.
